Karen Saverino

Communication Consultant

Karen Saverino, APR has more than 20 years of experience working in communication, first as a news reporter and then as a consultant. Her company Eightfold Strategy provides branding, marketing and communication expertise to non-profits, foundations and socially conscious companies.

She is a passionate advocate for the rights of girls and women, and believes that if we all take action, we can end inequities and injustices in our society.

She supports The National Crittenton Foundation with strategy development, media relations, social media and project management. Karen has worked with a variety of relevant clients including the Child Welfare Information Gateway, Women Employed and Chicago Foundation for Women.

In addition to working on social justice issues, Karen is particularly experienced with early care and education, and worked to pass legislation to provide funding for  high quality Pre-k for every child in the District of Columbia.

She lives in Washington, DC and has a roodtop view of the U.S. Capitol Building–a constant reminder of democracy and the opportunity to make change.
